Welcome to Irvington's Arts Magnet Program!
Irvington High School is the largest visual and performing arts high school in Fremont and has been designated by Fremont Unified School District as the Arts Magnet school for over 12 years! Irvington offers 30 art classes in Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts. In addition, the Center for Creative Arts is a set of English, Science, and Social Science classes designed to integrate the arts into core curriculum. Check out the website to find out more!
Irvington will allow 8th graders to shadow Ms. Brackett's 6th period CCA English/Dance unit. Come experience how we integrate the arts into our acaemic curriculum.
Students should come to Irvington on the day that their junior high school finishes early. All visitors must sign in at the office before coming on campus. To sign up, contact CCA Coordinator Gina Holmberg at 656-5711 ext. 46432 or gholmberg@fremont.k12.ca.us.
Irvington representatives will also visit all five junior high schools before the registration period to distribute materials. The visitation dates are:
The open enrollment period is from February 27th to March 16th, 2012. All applications must be complete and submitted by March 16, 2012. The Magnet Waiver Form must be turned into Attendance Area High School during this period. The Center for the Creative Arts/New Media Arts Academy Application must be submitted to Irvington during this open enrollment period.
There will be a Freshman Orientation, time TBA, in Valhalla Hall at Irvington.
To apply for the arts program at Irvington next year, please take the following steps.
This evidence should be attached to the CCA application. Other forms of evidence may be submitted than those listed above. All evidence (artwork) will be returned to students.

All students accepted on magnet waiver must be enrolled in arts programs (CCA, NMAA) and/or fine arts classes in order to maintain District Office policy and remain at IHS. Students who transfer to IHS on the magnet waiver are expected to join the CCA or NMAA families. Depending on enrollment, the CCA family may offer an honors component. Additional honors/AP classes are available through elective courses. Students that are accepted on waiver as part of Irvington's Arts Magnet are not eligible to enroll in the SHAPE or ITA families.
